Podgorica Library Council Rejects Name Change Amid Political Dispute

Members of the Savjet Narodne biblioteke "Radosav Ljumović" in Podgorica voted to oppose a proposed renaming of the institution. Mayor Saša Mujović said the council would take a clear stance against the change at the upcoming session, while Democratic Party of Socialists councilor Mirjana Radulović warned officials to watch their language, stating, "Ubuduće dobro pazite kako ćete se obratiti…".

The City Assembly's Committee for Election and Appointments later decided not to propose the dismissal of any council members. Four members voted against the motion, one abstained, and the proposal to remove the council was rejected. The committee also discussed appointments to other municipal bodies, but its decision confirmed that the library council will remain intact amid the ongoing debate.
