Serbia arrests two women on suspicion of espionage

Two women have been arrested in Serbia on suspicion of espionage. The operation, conducted by the Security Intelligence Agency (BIA), the High Public Prosecutor's Office in Jagodina, and police in Vranje and Jagodina, targeted individuals suspected of collecting and transmitting confidential information to foreign intelligence structures.

The suspects, identified as D. C., 46, from Gjilan, Kosovo, and N. P., 50, from Jagodina, Serbia, are alleged to have gathered data regarding active members of the BIA and their field activities. Serbian authorities claim the information was intended for the Albanian State Intelligence Service (SHISH), the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (AKI), and the intelligence units of the Kosovo Police.

During the investigation, a search was conducted at N. P.’s residence in Jagodina, where electronic devices and other items suspected of being used in the commission of the crime were seized. The investigation is ongoing to determine the full scope and duration of the alleged intelligence gathering.
