Podgorica Mayor Saša Mujović Expands Influence Over City Institutions and FK Budućnost
Saša Mujović, the mayor of Podgorica, has placed Vesna Brajović, the head of his cabinet, as president of the city’s football club FK Budućnost. Brajović announced that the club’s €1.55 million debt has been cleared with a €500 000 contribution from Montenegro Airport and temporary loans of €250 000 each from the municipal utilities agency and the Housing Agency, which will be repaid after the licensing process. She asserted that the club is financially stable, has no outstanding payments to players, staff or the state, and expects further stability from player transfers.
In a separate meeting, Mujović and Srđan Perić, president of the Assembly of the Capital City, agreed that all future communication between the mayor’s office and the city parliament will be public and transparent. Both officials said their political positions remain unchanged, emphasizing the need to avoid institutional blockages and to serve the interests of Podgorica’s residents.
