Podgorica Mayor challenged over Deponija d.o.o. leadership dispute

Ksenija Aranitović, a member of the Assembly of the Capital City, has publicly challenged Podgorica Mayor Saša Mujović regarding his legal responsibilities in the management of the municipal company Deponija d.o.o.

Aranitović contends that the Mayor is attempting to avoid his duties by claiming a lack of legal authority to influence the selection of the company’s executive director. She asserts that the Law on Local Self-Government and the Statute of the Capital City grant him the necessary powers to act.

The dispute centers on the appointment of Aleksandar Božović as executive director. According to Labor Inspection records, Božović reportedly lacks the minimum five years of management experience required by the company’s Statute at the time of his recruitment. Aranitović is calling for the Mayor to fulfill his obligations to ensure legal compliance in the selection process.
