Podgorica police arrest two for suspected quackery and illegal toxin trade

Police in Podgorica have arrested two individuals following reports of harmful medical treatments involving suspected botulinum toxin. The suspects are Y. K., a 44-year-old Ukrainian citizen, and D. L., a 41-year-old Montenegrin citizen.

Y. K. is suspected of quackery and committing serious crimes against human health, allegedly affecting three women. D. L. is suspected of illegal trade and the production and distribution of harmful products. The investigation began after staff at the Clinical Center of Montenegro reported that two patients arrived at the emergency department after receiving treatments involving the suspected toxin.

During a search of Y. K.’s residence and other premises, police seized items believed to be connected to the criminal activities. The seized objects will undergo forensic examination. The Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica has been informed and is overseeing the case.
