Podgorica property protection agency reports surge in legal cases

The Administration for the Protection of Property-Legal Interests of Podgorica has reported a significant increase in legal cases, with the number of active matters reaching 10,798. This represents an increase of approximately 2,000 cases compared to the entirety of the previous year.

Director Gojko Perović stated that the majority of these cases involve property rights, land registry issues, and expropriation proceedings. The financial stakes are substantial, with some individual disputes valued at 30 million euros or more. The outcome of these legal proceedings could have significant consequences for the capital city's assets and municipal budget.

Perović noted that the increasing volume and complex nature of these cases place additional pressure on the institution's existing capacities, requiring detailed legal analysis for each matter. The administration aims to build sufficient capacity to manage the growing workload.
