Podgorica students donate medical equipment to children's institute
Students from the Dr Dragiša Ivanović Elementary School in Podgorica have donated specialized ophthalmological equipment to the Institute for Children's Diseases at the Clinical Center of Montenegro. The donation includes a direct ophthalmoscope and a retinoscope, tools used by ophthalmologists to examine the fundus of the eye and assess refraction in young patients.
The medical equipment was purchased using funds raised during a humanitarian event titled ‘Mali koraci za velika djela’ (Small steps for great deeds), organized in May by ninth-grade students with support from mentor Melita Strugar and school administration. School director Marija Bogićević noted that the initiative demonstrated the importance of empathy, solidarity, and social responsibility among the students.
