Montenegro honors slain inspector Šćekić as Belgrade suspect faces grenade charges
In Montenegro, authorities have announced several measures to honor the late police inspector Slavoljub Šćekić on the 21st anniversary of his murder. The future Police Studies Faculty will be named after him, and Podgorica Mayor Saša Mujović has initiated a proposal to name a street in the Tološi neighborhood, where the killing occurred, in his honor. The initiative is expected to be voted on by the City Assembly on September 16.
In Serbia, Aleksandar S. (24) has been detained by the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade. He is suspected of using hand grenades (M-50 and M-52) to attack a businessman's house in New Belgrade on June 30 and August 14.
