OFFczarek Podhalański initiative seeks to remove banners near Tatra Mountains

A group of residents, drivers, and tourists in the Podhale region has launched an initiative called ‘OFFczarek Podhalański’ to reduce advertising banners along the Zakopianka road, which they claim obstruct views of the Tatra Mountains.

The campaign aims to identify one ‘Banner of the Week’ every Monday. Participants are encouraged to send polite email requests to the advertised companies asking them to remove the banners. Companies that comply will be publicly thanked and added to a ‘List of Good Neighbors of the Tatras.’ If organizers suspect any banners violate local regulations, they intend to report the matter to the appropriate authorities.

Organizers emphasize that the movement is not an attack on local entrepreneurs but a call for more aesthetic forms of promotion, such as digital presence or tasteful signage, that do not block the mountain landscape. The first banner is scheduled to be announced on November 30.
