Podkarpackie healthcare facilities to receive additional NFZ funding

Healthcare facilities in the Podkarpackie region will receive additional funding from the National Health Fund (NFZ) as part of changes to the 2026 financial plan. The NFZ has decided to release 1.8 billion PLN from its general reserve to finance unlimited medical services performed during the first quarter of the year.

An additional 600 million PLN has been allocated for drug programs and chemotherapy. From this pool, 114.2 million PLN is designated for the Podkarpackie NFZ to cover services performed beyond contract limits in the first quarter of 2026. Another 9.6 million PLN is earmarked for the full execution of services related to medicinal substances and chemotherapy.

This follows a trend of increasing state budget subsidies to the NFZ. While the 2023 subsidy was 200 million PLN, the amount has grown significantly in subsequent years, with the 2026 subsidy exceeding 33 billion PLN. Procedures to increase individual facility contract values are currently underway in the Podkarpackie region.
