Podkarpackie medical services receive new ambulances

Emergency medical services in the Podkarpackie region of Poland are receiving significant upgrades to their vehicle fleets. The Podkarpacka Stacja Pogotowia Ratunkowego in Mielec has recently added a new ambulance to its fleet, costing 685,000 PLN. This investment was supported by 150,000 PLN in funding from the Podkarpackie Voivode.

Further enhancements are planned through the Population Protection and Civil Defense Program (OLiOC). Under this initiative, the Bieszczadzkie Pogotowie Ratunkowe in Sanok is set to receive two new 4x4 ambulances later this year, supported by 1.5 million PLN in funding. These specialized vehicles are designed to navigate the difficult terrain of the Bieszczady mountains, including forest roads and steep inclines.

These new ambulances will also feature advanced medical equipment, such as bariatric stretchers to ensure the safe transport of high-mass patients and improve working conditions for paramedics. Voivode Teresa Kubas-Hul noted that these investments are part of a broader effort to strengthen the State Emergency Medical Services system across the region.
