Podkarpackie officials to review border security and shelter needs

Teresa Kubas-Hul, the Podkarpackie Voivode, has announced a special meeting of the provincial crisis management team to be held late this week or early next week. The meeting aims to evaluate border crossings with Ukraine, the safety of officials, and the necessity of constructing shelters.

The review will focus on border infrastructure to ensure operational efficiency during direct threats. The analysis will include planning for collective protection facilities, temporary shelters, and hiding places. These investments are intended to be integrated into the upcoming five-year Population Protection and Civil Defense Program.

This initiative follows Russian attacks occurring near the border territory. While border crossings currently operate under existing rules, the meeting seeks to improve security for officials, travelers, drivers, and infrastructure workers through enhanced protective measures.
