Podravka business ties with Trivas owner under scrutiny
The Croatian company Podravka and its subsidiary Danica have maintained long-term business relations with Trivas, a meat industry company based in Prnjavor.
Trivas is owned by Nemanja Vasić, a former official of the Serbian Democratic Party and the former president of the Prnjavor municipality during the war. Vasić previously testified before the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague in 2005 regarding the relationship between local authorities in Prnjavor and Bosnian Serb political leadership. In his testimony, Vasić supported certain political goals proclaimed by the Assembly of Bosnian Serbs in 1992 and had previously referred to Radovan Karadžić as a “living saint,” even offering him refuge in Prnjavor. Karadžić was later convicted of genocide and war crimes.
