Pořežany Museum showcases extensive collection of historical vehicles

The Museum of Vehicles, Technology, and Crafts in Pořežany, South Bohemia, houses an extensive collection of historical machinery and everyday objects. The museum, which occupies a three-story building and outdoor shelters totaling approximately 1,900 square meters, was opened to the public in 2000.

Founder František Jiříček, 95, began collecting items at the age of 15, starting with small components stored in a military trunk. His collection has grown over eight decades to include dozens of historical automobiles, approximately one hundred motorcycles, carriages, sleds, tractors, and agricultural equipment. The museum also features models of trains and aircraft, as well as historical household items like gramophones, typewriters, and sewing machines.
