Požega, Croatia Opens New Public Athletics Track

A new athletics track has been inaugurated in Požega, Croatia. The 400‑metre facility features six competition lanes, an eight‑lane sprint straight for 100‑ and 110‑metre races, an 80‑metre warm‑up lane, and areas for long jump, high jump, triple jump, pole vault, shot put, discus, hammer and javelin.

The track, part of a larger sports complex under construction, will be open daily from 08:00 to 21:00 and is managed by the Požega Sports Association. It is available to local sports clubs, schools, university students and recreational users. The opening was attended by Deputy Mayor Irena Martinek and sports federation secretary Željko Mitrović, who encouraged community participation. The project is financed through the ITU mechanism, with temporary container changing rooms currently in use until permanent facilities are completed.
