Požega Diocese establishes committee for 30th anniversary celebrations

The Committee for the Celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the Požega Diocese held its constitutive session at the St. Lovre Bishop's Home in Požega. Bishop Ivo Martinović addressed the committee members, emphasizing the importance of marking the diocese's three decades of existence in 2027 with meaningful programs across various areas of local Church life.

The Bishop noted that the pinnacle of the jubilee year will be the Fourth Eucharistic Congress of the Požega Diocese. He stressed that the celebrations should not be limited to a single final event but should include various gatherings and programs throughout the year to prepare the community.

During the session, the committee selected the motto ‘Stay with us, Lord’ (inspired by Luke 24:29) to express the desire for Christ's permanent presence through His word and the Eucharist. The committee, led by President Robert Kupčak and Secretary Marijan Pavelić, will coordinate the various programs and responsibilities as outlined in their founding decree.
