Požega Prison to expand meat processing and sales facilities

The Požega Prison in Croatia is set to undergo a reconstruction project that includes the expansion of its meat processing and sales capabilities. Rather than adding new prison cells, the project focuses on expanding an existing slaughterhouse within the complex and constructing new facilities for the processing and sale of poultry, minced meat, and various meat products.

The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Green Transition has determined that an environmental impact assessment is not required for this project. The planned expansion will integrate with existing facilities, which include nearby pig and sheep farming sites. The new facilities are intended to function as a single unit for the processing and sale of fresh meat and meat derivatives.
