Požega-Slavonia Public Health Institute celebrates 30th anniversary

The Institute of Public Health of Požega-Slavonia County celebrated its 30th anniversary, marking three decades of service in preserving and improving regional population health.

During the commemoration, Director Mato Matijević emphasized the institution's role in disease prevention and promoting healthy lifestyles. He highlighted the importance of public health interventions, specifically focusing on education to combat addictions such as smoking, alcoholism, and drug use, as well as encouraging better nutrition and physical exercise.

Požega Mayor Borislav Miličević congratulated the staff for their long-term dedication to the community's well-being. Representing the Croatian Institute of Public Health, Irena Tabain also addressed the attendees, noting the evolving challenges faced by public health professionals amidst rapid medical and societal changes.
