Poesia Festival 2026 to host two new exhibitions on Carlo Mattioli
The Poesia Festival 2026 will feature two new exhibitions dedicated to the 20th-century Italian painter Carlo Mattioli. Both exhibitions are set to open on Friday, August 28.
The first exhibition, focusing on the relationship between Mattioli and poetry, will be held in the Sala della Meridiana at the Rocca di Vignola. The second exhibition will explore the connections between Mattioli and Giorgio Morandi, hosted at the Salotto L. A. Muratori.
Mattioli, who lived and worked in Parma, was known for his lyrical, textured painting style and his deep ties to the literary world. His work often included portraits of intellectuals and collaborations with poets such as Mario Luzi, William Butler Yeats, and Federico Garcia Lorca.
