Poet Ahmet Telli honored in Nilüfer memorial program

A memorial program was held in Nilüfer to honor the late Turkish poet Ahmet Telli. Organized by the Nilüfer Municipality, the event took place at the NİLBEL Leylek Cafe & Restaurant garden and was attended by local book lovers and Nilüfer Deputy Mayor Okan Şahin.

Telli played a significant role in the establishment and development of the Nilüfer Poetry Library, which is noted as Turkey’s only poetry library. During the event, members of the ‘In the Footsteps of the Poet’ Poetry Club and the Nilüfer City Council Youth Assembly recited his works.

The program also featured a musical performance by Grup Rengin, who performed songs based on Telli’s composed poems. Speakers highlighted his lasting legacy in Turkish poetry and his contributions to the cultural and artistic journey of the Nilüfer region.
