Poetic Bridge Festival to debut in Zagreb
The inaugural Poetic Bridge Festival is scheduled to take place on September 19 and 20 at the Trešnjevka Cultural Center in Zagreb. The event aims to explore the intersection of poetry, music, translation, photography, calligraphy, and dance.
The festival features poets from Croatia, Hungary, and North Macedonia, including Anna Terék, Suzana V. Spasovska, Karla Kostadinovski, Marija Skočibušić, and Silba Ljutak. Performances will be held in original languages with Croatian and English translations projected for the audience, accompanied by violinist Alex Csapó.
Creative Director Anaïssa Ali Mogné-Mali has designed a program centered on audience participation. Activities include multilingual creative writing workshops, musical workshops, calligraphy, and dance. A panel discussion featuring translator Mišo Grundler will also examine the emotional impact of poetry and the nuances of linguistic translation.
