Poetry events and festivals highlighted in the Netherlands and Belgium

Cultural events highlighting poetry are taking place in Europe. In the Netherlands, Radio Lelystad has featured the poem ‘Well of Wonder’ by Marijn Brandsen. The poem, inspired by singer-songwriter Ad Vanderveen, explores themes of everyday wonder, vulnerability, and the emotional impact of small, moving moments.

In Belgium, the 6th edition of the Poetik Bazar poetry festival is scheduled to take place at the Halles de Schaerbeek in Brussels from September 18 to 20. This multilingual market and festival will feature books, micro-editions, illustrations, readings, performances, and workshops. The event includes artists from Belgium, Quebec, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and the Arab world, focusing on themes of care, joy, and collectivity.
