Poetry festivals enliven Montedoro and Melicuccà in Italy

On Friday 7 August, Montedoro hosted the "Visioni poetiche" event at the courtyard of the Oratory of Santa Maria del Rosario. The programme featured readings by poets Rosetta Farruggio, Carmelina Ingrao and Giovanni Petix (1884‑1970), a musical interlude by Maestro Giuseppe Noto, and opening remarks from archpriest Massimiliano Novembre and Anna Maria Caruana. The gathering was organised by Auser Vallone in collaboration with the local parish.

Later that evening, Melicuccà in Calabria inaugurated the third edition of the "Lorenzo Calogero" Poetry Festival, which will run until 11 August. The festival, conceived by director and editor Nino Cannatà and supported by the municipality, the Region of Calabria, the Leonardo Sinisgalli Foundation and other cultural partners, opened with the extension of the Viale dei Canti project. Speakers and participants included Camilla Miglio, Marina Valensi, Giuseppe Caccavale, mayor Emanuele Oliveri and regional education assessor Eulalia Micheli, among others.
