Poggibonsi electrical grid receives 6 million euro upgrade
E-Distribuzione, a company within the Enel Group, is implementing a major upgrade to the electrical grid in Poggibonsi. The project involves an investment of over 6 million euros, partially funded by the PNRR (National Recovery and Resilience Plan).
The infrastructure improvements include the complete restyling and automation of more than 80 secondary electrical cabins. Additionally, the plan calls for the installation of 10 km of new underground cables and the reconstruction of 2 km of overhead lines.
Due to these works, temporary power outages are scheduled for certain areas of Poggibonsi on Thursday, September 24. The company noted that the urgency of the operations was increased by weather-related damage to a cabin cover, which posed a risk of sudden, prolonged service disruptions.
