Poggio Imperiale launches inclusive park project

The “Polo per l’autonomia” in Poggio Imperiale has launched the “Un Parco per Crescere Insieme” project, aimed at transforming the courtyard of the “Cuore con le Ali” Day Center into an inclusive, stimulating “Parco Diffuso” (Distributed Park).

Through permanent markings on the pavement, the initiative introduces ludic-motor paths and traditional educational games. The project has already implemented a large-scale “living” Goose Game designed to combine psychomotor exercises, cognitive activity, and socialization. Future additions planned for the space include an alphabetical caterpillar for literacy, a bell for balance and coordination, a number-based frog for arithmetic, and a large clock for time measurement.

Promoted by social cooperatives Medtraining, Ortovolante, and SocialService, the project serves a dual purpose: providing daily tools for psychomotor rehabilitation and physical well-being for center attendees, while creating a community meeting point to foster social integration with local schools and the wider Poggio Imperiale population.
