Pogragjë suspect remains at large after fatal shooting of son

Authorities in Gjilan are searching for 53-year-old Remzi Arifi, who is suspected of fatally shooting his 29-year-old son, Bajram Arifi, in the village of Pogragjë.

The incident occurred on October 11, 2026, at approximately 19:20. During an examination of the scene, police seized three hunting rifles with expired permits. While investigators have located the vehicle used by the suspect to flee, Remzi Arifi remains at large.

Police Sergeant Ismet Hashani stated that preliminary investigations have not revealed any prior history of domestic violence complaints against the suspect, though the motive for the killing remains unknown. The Basic Prosecution in Gjilan's Department for Serious Crimes is overseeing the investigation to clarify the circumstances of the tragedy.
