Romania reports multiple road accidents and safety violations
Romania has seen a series of notable road incidents and traffic violations. In Tulcea, a child fell from a moving van after opening a door while not wearing a seatbelt; the incident was captured on dashcam and has prompted a criminal investigation for culpable bodily harm.
In Brașov, a fatal accident occurred when a vehicle veered onto a sidewalk, striking pedestrians and resulting in two deaths. Other regional incidents include a mother and three-year-old daughter being hospitalized after their car overturned in Vrancea, and a 17-year-old in Vrancea facing investigation after filming an 11-month-old infant behind the wheel of a moving car.
Infrastructure issues were also reported, such as a car becoming stuck in a sinkhole on Anghel Saligny Street in Constanța. Additionally, law enforcement in Mioveni suspended a driver's license for 90 days after she was caught traveling at 122 km/h in a 70 km/h zone. In Popești-Leordeni, authorities are investigating a viral video showing children being transported in a vehicle's trunk.
