Pokemon Company internal memo shows plans to raise game prices and boost dual-version sales

An internal document from The Pokemon Company outlines three pricing scenarios for Nintendo Switch Pokemon titles, including a potential price increase above the standard $60 price point. The memo emphasizes encouraging fans to buy both versions of a game, citing purchase rates of 41% for Sun/Moon, 50% for Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon and 23% for Let’s Go, Pikachu/Eevee, and warning that higher prices could cut sales by up to a million units.

Separately, Australian retailer EB Games announced that its initially high preorder prices for the Pokemon 30th Anniversary Trading Card Game were deliberately set to deter scalpers. The company later retracted those prices, stating they would align with regular retail pricing and that preorders not meeting purchasing policies would be cancelled before a final release to fans.
