Pokemon GO outage affects thousands of players

Pokemon GO experienced a widespread outage on August 14, 2026, with tens of thousands of users reporting technical difficulties. According to Downdetector, reports of issues began surging around 2:30 PM PT.

Players have reported two primary types of errors. Many are unable to progress past the initial login screen due to a “no network” error, preventing access to inventories and items. Other users can log in but encounter a “GPS error” that renders the game non-functional, causing player avatars to remain static on the map despite physical movement.

As of the latest reports, Niantic has not officially acknowledged the disruption or provided a timeline for restoration. The outage coincides with the 10th Anniversary Mewtwo event, adding to player frustration.
