Pokimane addresses deepfake controversy involving Atrioc

Twitch streamer Imane “Pokimane” has revisited a 2023 controversy involving Brandon “Atrioc” regarding the non-consensual sexualization of female creators through deepfakes. The discussion resurfaced in October 2026 after Pokimane saw Atrioc at an event involving close friends.

Pokimane clarified allegations that she had displayed explicit deepfakes of other streamers during her recent commentary. She stated that the image shown on her livestream was a censored version of what Atrioc had accidentally displayed during his January 2023 broadcast. She noted that the original site has been taken down and that she has since privated her video to avoid causing further harm.

Pokimane expressed that the incident left her feeling publicly humiliated and continues to cause anxiety. She mentioned that she consulted with the women affected by the original incident before making her public statements, noting that their feelings were a priority in her response.
