Santa Ana police investigate $1 million trading card heist
Authorities in Santa Ana, California, are investigating the theft of approximately 6,451 graded collectibles from a FedEx truck. The heist occurred on October 13, 2026, after the vehicle was left unattended for 60 to 90 minutes outside the Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA) facility.
Thieves reportedly forced the security system and removed two full pallets containing Pokémon and sports cards. While initial estimates valued the stolen items at approximately $963,000, the total value is still being determined. The stolen shipment included nearly 250 packages of rare and unique items that had been sent to PSA for authentication and grading.
In response, PSA’s parent company, Collectors, has deactivated the certification numbers of the stolen items to prevent resale and has notified auction houses and trading platforms. PSA is working alongside the Santa Ana Police Department and the FBI to recover the items. No arrests have been made as of the latest reports.
