Pokémon announces 30th anniversary celebrations in Manila

The Pokémon Company has announced a series of major activities in Manila to celebrate the franchise’s 30th anniversary. Key initiatives include “Pokémon RUN 30,” an interactive 5-kilometer course scheduled for October 3 and 4, 2026, at the SM Mall of Asia, and the establishment of the Philippines’ first Pokémon Center POP-UP STORE.

Other planned festivities include “PokéXciting! in Manila” and various celebrations hosted at SM Malls. The Pokémon RUN 30 event will feature themed stations such as a “Pokémon Gym” and a “Pokémon Center” refreshment station, allowing participants to engage in interactive challenges and collect stickers via Pokédex tasks.

In related news regarding the 30th anniversary, reports have surfaced that retailer GameStop is selling Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration cards in individual packs. While the manufacturer typically sells these cards in larger collections like Elite Trainer Boxes or Booster Bundles, GameStop is reportedly selling loose packs at a significant markup, with prices observed between $14.99 and $15.00 per pack, compared to a suggested retail price of approximately $4.49 per pack.
