Pokémon Bank service to shut down in February 2027
The Pokémon Company has announced that the Pokémon Bank service for the Nintendo 3DS will officially shut down on February 25, 2027. This closure will end the ability to transfer Pokémon from 3DS titles and older games to the newer Pokémon HOME platform.
Users with collections stored in Pokémon Bank are advised to transfer their Pokémon to Pokémon HOME before the deadline to avoid losing them permanently. While the app is no longer available for download due to the previous closure of the Nintendo 3DS eShop, players who already have the application installed on their systems can still perform transfers using a transfer key generated in Pokémon HOME.
To facilitate these transfers, a Pokémon HOME Premium subscription may be required, as the free version of HOME has a limited storage capacity of 30 Pokémon. Once the service ends, the direct link between the 3DS-era storage and current platforms will be severed.
