Pokémon card collections found in UK storage fetch high auction prices

Vintage Pokémon card collections found in storage spaces in the United Kingdom have drawn significant attention from auctioneers and collectors.

At Lymington Auction, a collection of early 2000s cards that had been kept in a loft for two decades sold for a total of £12,080. The sale, which included 28 lots, attracted international interest from buyers in the UK and the United States. The most expensive single lot in that collection was a Lugia ex card, which sold for nearly £2,000.

In a separate development, a retired decorator from Woking has been advised that his collection of 42 mint-condition Pokémon sets could be worth as much as £270,000. The collection, which includes a Sky Ridge Charizard set estimated to be worth between £20,000 and £40,000, is being prepared for sale by Ewbank's Auctions in Surrey.
