Pokémon GO announces Hawlucha event in Mexico

Niantic has announced a special Pokémon GO event in Mexico titled ‘Celebrating with Hawlucha’ to coincide with the country’s national holidays. The event is scheduled to run from September 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. until September 21, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

During this period, the Pokémon Hawlucha will appear more frequently in the wild, including the possibility of encountering its shiny version. Players can also participate in a Special Research task that offers branching paths. Choosing to train with Candela provides opportunities to find Rapidash, Torchic, and Chimchar, while choosing Arlo offers encounters with Mankey, Scizor, and Hisuian Sneasel. All these Pokémon may also appear in their shiny forms.

Additional event bonuses include Incense that lasts twice as long as usual and exclusive Hawlucha-themed stickers available through PokéStops and player gifts. Field Research tasks from spinning PokéStops will also feature Hawlucha encounters.
