Pokémon GO Fest 2026 draws crowds in Spain and Mexico amid global event
The Pokémon GO Fest Global 2026 ran on July 11‑12, featuring a launch raid against Mewtwo in Times Square and simultaneous local gatherings worldwide. In Pontevedra, Spain, hundreds of players coordinated through the Campfire app and Telegram to raid multiple gyms around the city centre, targeting Mewtwo at landmarks such as the Plaza de la Libertad. Participants highlighted the social aspect of the game, meeting in person and extending the event into the evening.
In Puebla, Mexico, the historic Zócalo became a hub for trainers who gathered early in the morning with portable batteries and themed gear. The event spurred community interaction and boosted foot traffic for nearby cafés and restaurants. Organisers noted the city’s active trainer community and its role in the global celebration.
Niantic also released special promotional codes for the fest, urging players to redeem them before the event’s deadline at 19:00 local time on July 12. Codes unlocked avatar items such as an MLB 2026 shirt and a FENDI × FRGMT hoodie.
