Pokémon GO announces Wild Area events in Sendai and Mexico City

Pokémon GO will host the ‘Wild Area’ event from November 6–8, 2026, with in-person celebrations in Sendai, Japan, and Mexico City, Mexico. This marks the first time the experience has been held outside of Japan.

In Sendai, the event is titled ‘Pokémon GO Wild Area: Sendai-Tohoku’ and aims to promote regional tourism and economic revitalization. In Mexico City, the event will feature special gameplay and activities for ticket holders. Both locations will feature Steel and Dragon-type Pokémon, including the debuts of Dynamax Dialga and Dynamax Palkia during Max Battles.

A global version of the event will take place on November 14–15, 2026, for players worldwide. This global iteration will also include Dynamax debuts, ‘mighty’ Pokémon with enhanced stats, and special research tasks. Players can also encounter costumed Machamp and use exclusive GO Safari Balls to assist in capturing difficult Pokémon.
