Pokémon releases new Wartortle anime short on YouTube

The Pokémon franchise has released a new anime short titled ‘Kameil to Natsu no Tsuzuki’ (Wartortle and the Continuation of Summer) on its official YouTube channel. Part of the POKÉTOON project, the approximately 13-minute short features the Kanto-region Pokémon Wartortle as the central protagonist.

Directed by Shingo Yamashita, the production is a collaboration between Studio Chromato and Studio Colorido. The creative team includes screenwriter Aya Satsuki, character designer and animation director Riiki Miura, and composer Kyosuke Kagawa. The voice cast features Kana Hanazawa as Wartortle, alongside Sayaka Senbongi, Tasuku Hatanaka, and Akiko Hiramatsu. Other Pokémon appearing in the short include Bellsprout and Leafeon.
