Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire rumored for October Switch release

Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire Nintendo Switch Nintendo Switch 2 video game rumors Pokémon HOME

Rumors suggest that Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire may be released for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 as early as October 8. An industry insider, Light_88_, shared this potential release date on social media.

While Nintendo has not officially announced these ports, several indicators support the possibility. Dataminers previously found clues in the code of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen regarding compatibility with the third generation. Additionally, the upcoming compatibility of FireRed and LeafGreen with Pokémon HOME on October 7 could serve as a strategic precursor to the new releases.

Previous successful re-releases of Pokémon titles have bolstered speculation that Nintendo is actively porting older generations to modern platforms. However, as no official confirmation exists, these reports remain unverified rumors.
