Pokémon RUN 30 road race announced for three Taiwanese cities

The Pokémon franchise is marking its 30th anniversary with a non‑competitive road race called Pokémon RUN 30. The event will take place in three Taiwanese locations: Taichung City’s Central Stadium on October 17‑18, Kaohsiung’s Times Avenue on October 31‑November 1, and New Taipei’s Metropolitan Park on November 14‑15. Race distances are 3.5 km in Taichung and New Taipei and 2 km in Kaohsiung, with a one‑hour time limit for each run.

Registration opens on July 1 and closes on August 18, although slots may fill early. Participants can choose the “Adventure Start” package for NT$1,380 or the “Training Challenge” package for NT$2,380; both include a commemorative shirt, a themed drawstring bag, a Poké‑ball arm‑band and collectible cards, while the higher‑priced tier adds a Poké‑ball pouch and a Pikachu shoulder plush. Early‑bird registrants who pay by July 21 receive a stylised coin‑purse.

Runners will encounter interactive stations featuring game music, Pokémon calls, arena challenges, a Pokémon Center pop‑up, and a “time‑tunnel” showcase of the series history. The carnival area is free to enter even without race registration. The event is open to all ages, with children under six required to be accompanied by an adult. Organisers warn against phone scams asking for credit‑card details.
