Pokémon Sleep expands via Spotify music and Google Fitbit collaboration
Spotify and Google have announced major collaborations with the mobile application ‘Pokémon Sleep’ to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise.
Spotify has released 19 new BGM tracks from ‘Pokémon Sleep’ on its platform. The release includes special Canvas videos featuring sleeping Pokémon animations that play when the tracks are streamed. To support the launch, outdoor advertising featuring Mew is being displayed in New York and Shibuya, and MIYASHITA PARK will host advertisements featuring 54 different Pokémon species. Additionally, Pokémon Center locations in Japan will distribute playlist cover stickers to customers.
Google has also announced a limited edition ‘Google Fitbit Air’ collaboration model. The wearable device features a ‘Sleepy Blue’ band with a silk-printed Pikachu design. The collaboration includes an in-game ‘Pikachu Incense’ bonus for purchasers. The Fitbit Air is scheduled for release on September 15, priced at 19,800 yen on the Google Store.
