Pokémon Trading Card Game celebrates 30th anniversary

Pokémon Trading Card Game Pikachu Pokémon TCG Pocket trading card collecting counterfeit cards

To mark the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, special Pika Pika! Pikachu missions will be hosted in Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket. Running from October 20, 2026, to October 19, 2027, the event allows players to log in for 10 days to receive a special Pikachu ex immersive card illustrated by artist YOSHIROTTEN.

Participants can also open special Pika Pika! Pikachu packs containing various Pikachu cards and Shiny Pikachu cards from previous expansions. The event includes opportunities to obtain themed accessories such as playmats, card sleeves, and coins.

As the brand celebrates this milestone, the market for trading cards has seen significant activity, with high demand for new editions and rare vintage cards. This surge in popularity has also led to an increase in counterfeit cards appearing in marketplaces, prompting a need for collectors to verify authenticity through physical traits like card weight, texture, and typography.
