Pokémon Viento and Pokémon Oleaje announced for 2027 with new time‑travel plot
Nintendo Switch 2 is set to host the upcoming Pokémon titles Viento and Oleaje, scheduled for release no earlier than the end of 2027. A recently leaked report outlines a storyline that features time‑travel, with a prequel anime depicting a young Professor and an older Champion; the Professor will be 14 years old and the Champion 20 during the series, which is set 30 years before the games' events.
Fans are also debating possible new Pokémon types for the open‑world setting, which includes tropical islands, a vast ocean and unique ecosystems. Proposed types include Sound, Cosmic, Technological/Digital and Ancestral, each aimed at expanding the franchise’s battle mechanics and lore.
The rumors come from leakers such as Centro Leaks and Khu, who claim no major updates will appear in 2026 and that the games will arrive after 2027. The Pokémon Company has confirmed only the three starter Pokémon—Browt (Grass), Pombon (Fire) and Gecqua (Water).
