Pol Espargaró acts as KTM’s versatile rider at Silverstone MotoGP
Pol Espargaró, a 35‑year‑old Spanish rider, is acting as a test and replacement rider for the KTM MotoGP team at the Silverstone Grand Prix in England.
He is filling in for injured teammate Maverick Viñales after testing the new 850 cc KTM bike in Misano, Italy, and previously earned a pole position with Honda. Espargaró has competed in 297 Grand Prix races.
Outside the track he works as a DAZN commentator alongside Izaskun Ruiz and mentors young Aspar rider Daniel Holgado. He stresses the importance of his family – wife Carlota and daughters Alexandra and Nicole – and describes his role as “a little soldier” moving wherever the team needs him.
