Pol Espargaró will substitute for Maverick Viñales at the upcoming MotoGP San Marino Grand Prix in Misano. This marks the third consecutive event that Viñales will miss due to ongoing injury concerns.

Viñales is recovering from a left shoulder injury, with recent examinations revealing a ‘small tear in the infraspinatus’. While the Red Bull KTM Tech3 team is prioritizing his recovery, they expressed confidence in Espargaró, noting his professionalism and familiarity with the team following his recent appearances in Silverstone and Aragon.

Viñales aims to return to racing as soon as possible, with the team expressing hope that he will be ready for the Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring in late September.
