Pol-Miedź Trans conducts large-scale railway emergency drills
Pol-Miedź Trans, a subsidiary of the KGHM Group, conducted large-scale emergency response drills at its base in Polkowice to test the speed and effectiveness of rescue services. The simulation involved a collision between a passenger car, a locomotive, and a tank wagon at a railway crossing.
The exercise simulated eight casualties, including five people in the vehicle, one pedestrian, and two locomotive crew members. To ensure realism, participants utilized hydraulic tools, water cannons, and a field hospital. The drill included various emergency units, such as the Volunteer Fire Departments from Sobin and Jaczów, police, military representatives, and the Specialist Rescue Group 'Strażacy Wspólnie przeciw Białaczce' from Lubin.
Łukasz Górnicki, President of Pol-Miedź Trans, stated that safety is the company's absolute priority. He noted that because the company transports various materials, including hazardous goods, regular training is essential to prepare employees and emergency services for crisis situations and to refine cooperation between different agencies.
