Poland proposes 2027 budget with 282.6 billion PLN deficit

The Polish government has presented its 2027 budget draft, which includes a projected deficit of 282.6 billion PLN, representing approximately 7.1% of GDP. This deficit is expected to be one of the highest in recent history. Total state revenues are projected to reach 695 billion PLN, while expenditures are estimated at 977.6 billion PLN.

Key spending priorities include national defense, which is allocated 198.1 billion PLN (4.5% of GDP), and the healthcare sector, which is slated to receive 274.1 billion PLN. The budget also accounts for an increase in energy security and transformation spending. Economic projections for 2027 include a real GDP growth of 3.0% and an average annual inflation rate of 2.8%.

Regarding social programs, funding for the 800+ child benefit program is projected to decrease to 60.8 billion PLN, a reduction of nearly 1 billion PLN compared to 2026, attributed to a declining number of children. The budget also includes provisions for various other social benefits, including pensions and support for persons with disabilities.
