Poland 2027 elections may lead to minority governments

Speculation regarding the 2027 Polish parliamentary elections suggests a highly fragmented political landscape. Current polling indicates that Koalicja Obywatelska (KO) may emerge as the largest party, potentially shifting toward a more right-wing centrist character. However, forming a stable majority may prove difficult without the support of current coalition partners like PSL or the Left.

Łukasz Pawłowski, president of the Ogólnopolska Grupa Badawcza (OGB), predicts that the next parliament could lead to minority governments or exotic coalitions. He notes that while the right wing could potentially secure 250-260 seats, the rise of new political forces—such as the group led by Grzegorz Braun, which has seen polling increases—and the influence of Mateusz Morawiecki’s political circle could complicate coalition building. The fragmentation of the Sejm may result in a scenario where the largest single club fails to form a government without significant concessions to smaller, diverse factions.
