Poland addresses critical infrastructure and cybersecurity communication
Experts at the Cyber24Days conference discussed the protection of critical telecommunications infrastructure in Poland, emphasizing the need for reliable connectivity during peace, crisis, and war. Discussions highlighted the vulnerability of information networks to both physical destruction and cyberattacks, noting that disruptions to satellite stations and Starlink facilities in Poland have been linked by authorities to Russian intelligence activities.
In addition to technical resilience, CERT Polska has emphasized the importance of crisis communication following cybersecurity incidents. Effective communication is identified as a vital tool to prevent disinformation and maintain trust among employees, clients, and partners. Providing clear, timely information regarding what occurred and what protective measures should be taken can mitigate the long-term reputational and security consequences of an attack.
