Poland adds 150 km of new highways, announces pedestrian crossing on DK15

The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) reported that in the first half of 2026 Poland opened about 150 km of motorways, expressways and bypasses, including sections of the A2, S6 and S19 corridors. During the period the agency also signed 12 contracts for new road projects worth more than 9.8 billion zloty, covering roughly 158 km of additional infrastructure. GDDKiA is running 30 tender procedures for 407 km of roads valued at an estimated 14.4 billion zloty, and says the plan for 2026 tender calls will not be jeopardised.

Separately, GDDKiA confirmed that a pedestrian crossing and a 1.4‑km sidewalk will be built on national road DK15 in Rogówek, Lubicz municipality, after a fatal accident highlighted safety concerns. The 3.2 million‑zloty project, awarded to TRANSBRUK Barczyńscy, will also include lighting, bus bays and dedicated turn‑offs.
